Membership Information
Meetings: BRT meets on a bi-weekly basis, alternating Wednesdays of each month from 7:30am until 9am at the City Centre Hotel at 1961 Douglas Street. Members are encouraged to arrive between 7:00 and 7:15 for a prompt start at 7:30 and adjournment by no later than 9am. The format of the meetings is as follows:
- Arrival: 7:00-7:25am Socialize with colleagues, remain standing until 7:30am. Pay for the month’s meals if start of month.
- Chair: Welcome Members and introduction of Guests. Brief overview of purpose and intent of the BRT and explanation of meeting format and team composition.
- Book Minute and Education Minute: Presentation of a book of interest to the Members and a piece of business info pertinent to each Member
- 90 Second infomercial by each Member
- Guests: Members introduce their Guest(s) and each Guest is given 90 seconds to introduce their business.
- Presentation: Maximum10 minute presentation by a Member to the group. This is an opportunity to promote your business and improve the knowledge base and comfort level of the membership with respect to your business, thus improving the likelihood of receiving referrals from the Members. 2 minutes are allocated for questions from the group to the presenter.
- Referrals / Testimonies: An opportunity for Members to share referrals and provide testimonies re: other Members’ business practices.
- Announcements and adjournment: Guests are asked for their feedback regarding the meeting and invited to apply for membership by the Chair who then thanks all Members & Guests and opens the floor for announcements. The date of the next meeting is announced and the meeting is adjourned.
